Spend the night at Pacuare River Lodge and raft out
Pacuare River Rafting is the undisputed crown jewel of all the Costa Rican Rivers. National Geographic called the Pacuare one of the top three rafting rivers in the world. The Pacuare River Gorge is home to thousands of exotic creatures such as sloth, monkeys, toucans, and the elusive jaguar. This lush paradise is accentuated by literally dozens of spectacular waterfalls crashing down hundreds of feet into the blue-green waters of the Pacuare. The Pacuare is invariably the highlight of our client’s vacation in Costa Rica.
Itinerary – Spend the night at the lodge and raft out.
Day–1 Meet us at Pacuare River Bar And Grill in Santa Marta on highway 10 between the towns of Siquirres and Turrialba at 1PM. If you have a rental car we will store it for you in our secure location and have it waiting for you at the Pacuare River take-out on day two. If you are arriving by public bus from either Turrialba or Siquirres or by private transfer just simply tell the driver to stop in Santa Marta de Siquirres. From Our restaurant we will shuttle you by 4×4 to Pacuare River Lodge. Once checked into your cabin you will have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy the riverside lodge. Sip on a tropical drink or explore the surrounding wilderness while our staff prepare a delicious jungle meal in the fully equipped open-air kitchen. That evening after an incredible dinner by candle light you’ll sleep in one of our 14 cozy Cabinas that all overlook the river and listen as the Jungle’s nocturnal creatures serenade you into a well deserved slumber…
Day 2 – Today you’ll wake to the singing of Tropical Birds and rumble of the nearby River. The lovely aroma of percolating coffee will coax you out of your cozy Cabinas and to the hearty breakfast our trusty staff have been preparing. Then, after breakfast, it’s Rafting time, we’ve got boats to load and rapids to conquer. Today’s Whitewater and scenery will be breathtaking, we’ll encounter several exciting class IV Rapids! We’ll pull over to do a short but spectacular hike to one of the Canyon’s most spectacular Waterfalls. The cool water in the pristine pool at the base of the falls is a perfect and refreshing break from the warm tropical jungle. Swim as long as you like or just relax and take in the incredible natural beauty around you. Then after a few more River miles, we’ll pull over for a gourmet river lunch prepared by your trusty guides. Then, it’s back to work, we’ve got some more miles to cover to get to the take out!
